About Storybook Ireland
TODO (owner): opening paragraph in your own words — what Storybook Ireland is and why you made it.
Who writes it
TODO (owner): your name, a short bio as a local, award-winning photographer based in North Cork, the awards (name, year, body), and links to your portfolio and profiles. Fill in AUTHOR in src/lib/site.ts.
How do we check facts?
Every opening time, price and contact detail on an attraction page is checked against an official source, which is linked at the bottom of the page. Each page shows the date its facts were last checked, and pages not re-checked within six months are flagged for review. Where a fact couldn't be confirmed, we leave it out rather than guess.
History and folklore are kept apart: each place's story says clearly what is documented and what is local legend.
TODO (owner): confirm this matches how you work, and add how readers can report a correction.
Where do the photos come from?
Photos marked "Original photograph" were taken for Storybook Ireland. Any other photo carries its credit and licence.
How are the maps made?
The illustrated 3D maps are drawn with toytown-gl, an open-source library that turns OpenStreetMap into a toy-town style map. Map data ©OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database Licence. Walking times are estimated from straight-line distances at 4.8 km/h.
How does Storybook Ireland make money?
Some pages link to booking sites such as GetYourGuide, Viator and Booking.com. If you book through those links we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you; they're always marked. Local businesses can pay for a featured listing in our eat, drink and stay guides; these are always labelled "Sponsored", and they never change what we say about a place or the order of attractions. We may also show a small number of ads in future.
TODO (owner): confirm, and keep this in step with Phase 4 (ads, sponsored tiers).
